About us and getting started
What is Harrow Removals?
A local removals company based in the HA area, covering the whole London Borough of Harrow. We do house moves, man-and-van, business relocations, packing and storage, plus road removals from Harrow into Europe.
How do I get a quote?
Fill in the quote form with your two addresses and what you’re moving. We’ll come back with a written quote. For larger moves we’ll do a quick video or in-person survey so the price is right first time.
Will you give me a price straight away on the phone?
We’d rather quote properly than throw out a figure that changes on the day. Once we understand what you’re moving and the access at both ends, we’ll put a clear price in writing.
Do you cover the whole HA area?
Yes — Harrow-on-the-Hill and the town centre, Wealdstone, Pinner, Stanmore, Rayners Lane, Kenton, North, South and West Harrow, Harrow Weald and Hatch End. If you’re in an HA postcode, you’re on our patch.
What we move, and how
Do you do small moves as well as full house removals?
Yes. A single room, a studio flat, a student move or one heavy item is a man-and-van job — we size the van and the crew to the work so a small move doesn’t pay for a big one. Bigger jobs are full house removals.
Can you pack for me?
Full packing, part packing (just the kitchen and fragile things), or a supply of proper materials if you’d rather do your own. We wrap furniture and box glass and china carefully either way.
Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
Yes — beds, wardrobes and the awkward flat-pack come apart at one end and go back together at the other if you’d like. Tell us what’s involved so we bring the right tools and time.
Do you move offices and businesses?
We do — offices, shops and light-industrial units around Harrow, planned around your hours to keep downtime short, with crates, labelling and careful IT handling.
Can you handle flats with no lift or tight parking?
That’s a big part of what we do around Wealdstone and the town centre. We plan the carry and sort a permit bay or bay suspension in advance, so a no-lift or tight-parking move still runs smoothly.
Storage and clearance
Do you offer storage in Harrow?
Yes — secure, managed storage tied to our removals service. Your things are collected, wrapped, inventoried and kept safe, and we handle getting them in and out. Short-term or long-term.
How is your storage different from a self-storage unit?
Ours is managed and part of the move — we do the collecting, wrapping and handling rather than you renting a drive-up unit and doing the lifting. For most people mid-move that’s easier; if you specifically want self-access, we’ll point you somewhere sensible.
Can you help with house clearance or a downsize?
Yes — we can help sort what goes into store, what moves on, and what’s disposed of responsibly, so a downsize or a clearance isn’t a single frantic weekend.
The HA area
Can you move a house on Harrow-on-the-Hill?
Regularly. The Hill’s conservation streets are steep, narrow and often can’t take a big truck, so we plan a shuttle vehicle and a sensible carry in advance rather than turning up and hoping.
Do you move to and from Pinner and Stanmore?
Yes — the Metroland semis of Pinner and the larger inter-war houses towards Stanmore are core to our patch. They usually have drives and space, but long staircases, so we bring the right crew size.
Do you move out of the area, or only within Harrow?
Both. Plenty of moves stay within the HA postcodes, but many go elsewhere in London, out to Watford and the Home Counties, across the UK, or into Europe. Harrow is where we’re based, not the limit of where we go.
Moving into Europe
Do you really do international moves?
Yes — road removals from Harrow into Europe: France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. The same crew loads your HA-area home; the drive simply keeps going past the Channel.
How does a move from Harrow to Europe travel?
By road on one vehicle — out of the HA area via the M1/M25, across the Channel by Eurotunnel or ferry, and on through Europe to your address. Your things stay on the same lorry, so they’re handled once at each end.
What happens with customs since Brexit?
A move to the EU is now a customs export. For a genuine relocation, transfer-of-residence relief usually means your used household goods enter without import duty or VAT, against a detailed inventory and declaration — which we prepare.
